Standard galvanized fasteners can corrode within 5 to 7 years of installation on coastal homes. We use stainless steel ring-shank nails and aluminum flashings on every Rehoboth job. The upgrade adds maybe 2 percent to your material cost and adds 10+ years to your flashing lifespan.

Wind ratings built for nor’easters

Sussex County building code requires roofs to handle high wind events. We install GAF Timberline HDZ shingles with LayerLock technology and the 6-nail pattern that meets the highest manufacturer wind warranty, rated up to 130 mph. For oceanfront homes within half a mile of the Boardwalk, we recommend the heavier Timberline UHDZ.

Algae and UV defense

South-facing slopes near the coast see aggressive algae growth from the salt-humidity combination. We default to StainGuard Plus algae-resistant shingles on every Rehoboth job at no extra charge. UV degradation is also faster here than inland, so we spec higher-grade underlayments that hold up to the heat cycling.

Insurance claim experience

Wind, hail, and falling-tree damage are common on the Delaware shore. We’ve worked with most major carriers’ adjusters and we can document your loss properly the first time, with drone photos, written reports, and Xactimate-comparable estimates. If you’re an out-of-state owner, we coordinate directly with your adjuster so you don’t have to fly in.
